Thinking about the spiritual mystery of Kumbh-Parva, it is known that those householders who know 'Panchagni Vidya' and those who are Vaanprasthi, Sanyasi or celibate celibate, being detached from worldly subjects and lusts, practice penance and truth-bringing with devotion,  They go to 'Brahmalok' via Uttarayan-marg i.e. Archimarg via Suryalok.

After staying there for many kalpas, they return from the same path by which they went and stay in the senses and they do not come to the land.  While living in the sensory worlds, fortunately, due to the attainment of knowledge through Gurupadesh, salvation is attained, due to which they do not come to this world, they get absorbed in Brahma.

On the other hand, those ordinary householders who perform Ishta-Agnihotradi Vedic Karma and Poort-Vapi, Kup-Tadagadi Pratishtha and charity, Yagya etc. while living in the village, they go to 'Chandralok' by Dakshinayan-marg i.e. through Dhoom-marg.  They reside there till the decay of their virtues and then become clouds etc. and are born on this earth in the form of medicine, grass and vegetation by rain.

The people who remain deprived of 'Panchagni Vidya' etc. and also of Agnihotra, Vapi, Koop, Tadagadi Pratishtha, charity, Yagya etc., they go into the vaginas of insects, kites etc. and suffer the troubles of birth and death again and again.  In this way, the three stages of human beings after death, the best, the middle and the worst, are described in the Upanishads.

Those people who get Tatvgyan through Gurupadesh before death i.e. before death, at the time of their death the soul along with the soul does not follow any of the aforesaid paths, but merges in the heart (Brahman).  This is the best speed for the wise as described in the Upanishads.

In fact, the secret of celebrating Purn Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh is that on this festival, we come from far away places to holy places like Haridwar, Prayag etc., get purified by bathing in the Ganges, get knowledge through the teachings of the best scholars and practice penance, truth, charity, sacrifice.  Do auspicious deeds as per your right, so that after death we get the best, best or middle speed and never get the bad speed.

What is the spiritual significance of Kumbh Mela?

No one has any chance to doubt the antiquity of the Kumbh festival which is mentioned in the Vedas and Puranas by Lord Shankaracharya, the originator of the Kumbh festival.  But it must be considered that who initiated the spread of Kumbh Mela in a religious way?

After a lot of investigation in this matter, it is proved that the one who started the Kumbh Mela is Lord Shankaracharya.  It seems that he arranged for the promotion of Kumbh-Parva only to strengthen the religious culture.

According to his ideals, even today in the four famous pilgrimages of Kumbh-Parva, sages-mahatmagans of all sects propagate religion according to the country-time-situation from the point of view of public welfare, which leads to the welfare of the entire human-society.

Due to the originator of Lord Shankaracharya's Kumbh, even today the fair of Kumbh festival is mainly considered to be of sadhus only.  In fact, the community of saints is the life of Kumbh.  The great purpose for which the Kumbh festival was started by Lord Shankaracharya, today it is lacking more than necessary, it is not hidden from anyone.

What happens in Kumbh?

The first goal of a man's life is to get nectar. Some people are alienated from immortality because of the good done by themselves, they are engaged in getting that nectar.  Kumbh is a sacred Ganga site.  Here Lord Vishnu himself took the form of Mohini and fed the gods the nectar that came out of the churning of the ocean.

Bathing in the water of Kumbh gives freedom from all kinds of sins, so knowing the glory of this place, some people come here to bathe and some people do charity, sacrifice etc. to get rid of their sins and sufferings.  They come to Kumbh for this.

A big fair is held in Kumbh. Sages and saints come here from far and wide. After bathing in the water here, they engage themselves in penance and perform yagya, homa etc. for the welfare of some living beings.  It is said that if any living being goes and bathes in Kumbh even once in his life, then he does not have to take birth again in this land of death.
