How does the soul reach Yamraj

Death is a fact that no one can deny.  There is a belief of heaven and hell after death.  According to the Puranas, those who do good work in life go to heaven and those who commit sins reach hell, but the answer to how the soul goes to Yamraj in Yamlok is explained in Garuda Purana.

The Garuda Purana also describes how a person dies and how he takes the form of a soul, and how the fruits of his actions are decided according to his actions.

How does the soul reach Yamraj,Friends, before moving forward, let us tell you that for spiritual development, you must read the post till the end.  So that complete knowledge can be attained.

How does the soul reach Yamraj

According to Garuda Purana when a person is about to die he cannot speak even if he wants to. In his last moments of life divine vision arises within him and he is able to understand the whole world.

All his senses are destroyed and he becomes unable to move.  After this, saliva starts dripping from his mouth.  A person who has committed many sins in life.

His prana comes out from the lower gates of the body, that is, his prana comes out of the place of faeces or urine while leaving the body.

At that time, he sees two gods of death standing in front of him.  Which look terrible.  Yamdoots are black like crows.  Their faces are shapeless and their nails are their weapons.

Seeing such a personality, the human gets scared and sometimes urinates or passes stool.  The messengers immediately bind the soul of a dead person.  When the soul gets tired on its way to Yamaloka, it is not allowed to stop to rest.

Instead the god of death scares the soul by informing it of the pain it is going to get in Yamaloka.  On hearing these horrifying stories about Yamaloka, the souls start crying loudly.

But the eunuchs show no sympathy.  After this, the soul remembers the sins committed throughout its life.

The soul is continuously driven hungry and thirsty in the burning sand.  This is the time when the Yamdoots start whipping the soul.

That soul falls down several times, becomes unconscious and gets up to walk again.  Thus the god of death takes the soul to Yamaloka through a dark passage.

Where it takes a total of 47 days to reach.  After reaching Yamlok, the soul is shown the place where it has to stay while suffering the tortures.  And then she finally meets Yamraj,

After which Yamdev prescribes torture for her according to the sins committed by that soul.  And in the end, until the sins committed by that soul are destroyed, it continues to suffer terrible tortures in hell.

So dear readers. Hope you have liked the information.  With this, we end our talk here and pray to lord Shiva to make your life auspicious and fulfill all your wishes.
