His name itself signifies this—Kshemdhurti means "the embodiment of prosperity and well-being." Kshemdhurti was renowned for his adherence to truth and dharma (righteousness) not only in his own kingdom but also in the surrounding regions.

To resolve this grave situation, he turned to deep penance and meditation. He performed severe austerities to please Lord Shiva. By Lord Shiva’s grace, Kshemdhurti was granted the power to revive the brahmin's son, and he brought him back to life.
